I, for one, love hearing about what everyone else is listening to and WHY they're listening to that specific song or album. Music is definitely essential in my life, when I'm sad, angry, frustrated, mellowed out...music takes me to another place where everything is right in the world, at least for that moment. Hopefully, some of you can relate. So, feel free to post your favorite tunes, videos, album reviews(new and oldies but goodies)...anything you love and you think is worth sharing.

What I listened to most in 2008.

I can't believe I am just now discovering this group. I should pay more attention around here! :P
As an introduction, I thought I'd post a few of the songs that I had on repeat frequently in 2008.
Some is new, some is old - all good. :pimp:

Above all MGMT was my favorite find - I have listened to the Oracular Spectacular countless times and it never gets old! Weekend Wars was my morning alarm clock for a long time. My poor husband developed a love/hate relationship with it :rotfl:

Weekend Wars - MGMT

I was obsessed with getting Mellowdrone album, Box ever since hearing Bone Marrow on my favorite online radio show, Guilty Pleasure on East Village Radio. Once I finally got my hands on it, I had Bone Marrow on repeat for a bit. I still include it on my mixes frequently.

My always - The Walkmen came out with a new album in 2008. They also came to see me in Austin back in October. :bcbw:

In the New Year - The Walkmen

I was also stoked beyond belief that Portishead finally released Third! I will follow them always. :notworthy:

1 Silence - Portishead

This makes me move:

Ce Jeu (The Twelves Remix) - Yelle

Lights And Music - Cut Copy

Shadows - Midnight Juggernauts

I AM SO INLOVE with this song!!

Can check out some of the other songs from her by putting in any of the tags i have listed or visit my page if you like what you hear ....

Livvi FrancLivvi Franc

Well for those who are on my friends list and/or those who checked my homepage months ago...well since last year would have seen this girl...and a couple others from Barbados on the music scene and that I had posted that she was recently signed to Jive. Anyways she is about the hit the UK and the USA markets but hitting the UK first with her first music video to one of her first songs "Free" that she had since last year on her Myspace page (IT IS GREAT) I love her, if you love quirky, meaningful, fun, silly, dancable music AND something a bit different, THIS GIRL IS FOR YOU!!! she is gorgeous and talented...and i'm just here supporting my girl and letting you get a first hand of her before she hopefully blows away the rest on scene :D :D hehehe

NOTE: If you are uptight, mean or/and just rude with a BIASED attitude best to pass on then. Great ppl for a great girl :D

Her Myspace link is below:

Check her music, read her bio and look around. (come in with an open mind to someone who loves music and influenced by various artistes especially of years ago, she is different..like she is suppose to be..the way ppl would think others should be, she is from BARBADOS and not grown up in countries that have ppl tied down to certain genres and stuff, those who are afraid to experiment or get pushed aside because they do)

Let me know what you think, listen to all her songs :D, the ones at the bottom are her old ones and the one from This is a Raid and up are new and to be on her upcoming album :) ENJOY FRIENDS AND PEEPS! :D
